Droptor runs on Rackspace hardware (via Slicehost). Rackspace is an industry leading hosting provider that provides enterprise-class data centers, top-tier physical security and multiple layers of redundancy for power, cooling and network connectivity.
Your data is is protected in several important ways: We protect against hardware failure by using RAID10 technology, which offers data redundancy against hard drive failure. Complete system snapshots are taken daily and stored on separate hardware. For added protection, additional backups are taken daily and stored offsite, encrypted, in the Amazon cloud.
We regularly patch our systems with the latest security updates and run hardened firewalls. We use checklists to ensure our systems are setup correctly and consistently from the first power up.
In addition, we built the Droptor monitoring module with three important security features to ensure that using Droptor does not put your site at additional risk.
If you setup a paid plan with us we don't save or store your credit card information anywhere in our system. We use a world-class payment gateway that handles millions of transactions a day and keeps millions of credit card numbers safe. We transmit your credit card details to the payment gateway using the same level of encryption used by banks.
In addition, we took special care when building our system logging and debugging framework to ensure that we don't log your credit card numbers or billing.
